Children and the law

AFR has considerable experience in relation to matters involving children.  Sara Mallett has been actively involved in recent years in the dramatic overhaul that has taken place in cases involving children.  Sara has acted in various capacities in both public and private child care matters.  She has acted for parents, guardians and  separately represented children.  Many of the cases have invoked ground-breaking decisions that will now feed into the new Children’s Law.

Sara has also represented young people involved in criminal matters and also those that have had to spend time in secure accommodation. 

A background of working as a Playleader within the island’s holiday schemes over a period of years, has enabled Sara to develop an ability to communicate and present the wishes and feelings of those young people who need their voices heard in proceedings.
