Peter studied law at the University of Southampton and became an English solicitor in 1979.  He was called to the Guernsey Bar in 1980 and acted in the capacity of senior partner for a considerable number of years.

Peter is a notary public, a member of STEP and former Chairman (Batonnier) of the Guernsey Bar. 

Peter is also a director of a number of financial services and trading companies.

In the Legal 500, Peter has been commended for private client, corporate and trust work. In Chambers Europe 2010 "... he is regarded as very thorough..".

Peter was the author of the Guernsey Chapter of ‘Tolleys International Laws of Succession’.
